Jewish Community Center Caregivers Support Group.  Third Tuesday. 12:30-2:00 pm, at the Jewish Community Center of Asheville, 236 Charlotte Street. Please register in advance.  Family members and caregivers of an aging loved one get together to share experiences, receive information and develop coping skills in matters related to the issues of aging.  Info: 253-0701.

WNC Brain Tumor Support
Third Thursdays, 6:30 pm at West Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall, 690 Haywood Rd. Adult support group for newly diagnosed brain tumor patients, brain tumor survivors, their families and caregivers.  681-2559 or wncbraintumor.org

CarePartners ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease) Support Group – Second Sundays, 3-5 pm.  68 Sweeten Creek Rd..  Resource and support group for people with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, their family and friends.  Refreshments.  252-1097

Mission Hospitals and the WNC Chapter of the Leukemia &Lymphoma Society Support group - Second Monday, 4-6 pm. For blood cancer patients and caregivers, which features an open communication about the illness, the sharing of experiences, and personal suggestions on how to cope with blood cancer diagnosis and treatment. NAMI Western Carolina - First Saturdays, 10 am. Meets at Mountainhouse, 225 E. Chestnut St. across from Fuddruckers.  Offers support, educations and advocacy for families and persons with schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression or an anxiety disorder. Call 298-1847, 687-6901, 800-451-9682. 

Heart Failure Support Group – Third Tuesday, 1:30-2:30 pm. Held on the 3rd floor at Asheville Cardiology, 6 Vanderbilt Park Dr.  To help those with CHF live more fully.  Meetings include a light lunch and educational speakers. Info: 255-0231
