Support Group Coordinator

Richard Ruben is a classically trained chef, cookbook author, culinary instructor, and food consultant graduated from the California Culinary Academy. He has long been a leader in Mary Donnelly’s MemoryCaregivers Network Group and has begun a Thursday night support group for those who are currently enrolled in MemoryCare.

His experience with MemoryCare began when his husband was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and he became his caregiver for 6 years. Richard says,  “The experience of MemoryCare and the community I engaged with taught me how to get through journey — as imperfect as it was at times. It is an honor to be with other caregivers and help alleviate the intense stress, confusion and loneliness associated with being a caregiver.”
