Local Organization Garners International Attention: MemoryCare to present in Paris

ASHEVILLE, NC – On July 19, 2011 Asheville based MemoryCare presented its model of care at the Alzheimer’s Association International Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease (ICAD) in Paris, France.  ICAD brings the world’s leading researchers and practitioners together to highlight the latest work in the field.  This renowned conference provides attendees with creative ideas and a platform for collaboration.

MemoryCare has received local, regional and national awards, and was able to present their integrated model of care to an international audience.

MemoryCare is a 501(c)3 non-profit that serves the rapidly growing need for appropriate assessment, treatment, and support for memory-impaired individuals and their families in Western North Carolina.  MemoryCare’s integrated model of care provides specialized medical treatment to older adults with memory loss and recognizes the important role caregivers play in delivering effective care management. The interdisciplinary team of doctors, physician assistant, nurse, and social workers serves more than 900 patients and 2600 caregivers annually.  MemoryCare calls Western North Carolina home and remains dedicated to serving those afflicted with Alzheimer’s and dementia in the region.
