MemoryCare is excited to share that JFS COMPASS, a program which similar to that of ours, was awarded the Network of Jewish Human Service Agency’s 2021 Pillar of Excellence Award in the Innovation category.
NJHSA CEO Reuben Rotman remarked, “With a mission to serve their community during this unprecedented pandemic, JFS Delaware’s COMPASS program has demonstrated their ability to foster high impact solutions, innovative practices and dynamic opportunities for their community during a time of crisis and isolation.”
JFS COMPASS is a team of geriatric professionals led by Medical Director, Dr. Maria D’Souza, a physician specializing in geriatric medicine and dementia care. The program provides comprehensive assessment, diagnosis and treatment for the symptoms of cognitive impairment and ongoing support of caregivers during all stages of the disease. They work together with the individual and their caregivers to develop a plan of support that offers strategies to address day-to-day issues and their own well-being.
