L.E. Grabowski-Cotton is a published writer, screenwriter, playwright, and professional writing coach. She holds an M.F.A. in Playwriting and Screenwriting from Florida State University, and an M.A. in English Literature and a B.A. in Communication from George Mason University. She taught English Composition at The University of Memphis, Crichton College, and The New Bilingual Institute of George Mason University. Each of her five full-length screenplays have won multiple awards, including placing in the top 10% of the Nicholl Fellowship, Table Read My Screenplay Sundance Film Festival, 20/20 Screenwriting Contest, Fresh Voices Original Screenplay Contest, Scriptoid’s Writer’s Challenge, WriteMovies International Screenwriting Contest, and the American Zoetrope Screenplay Contest. Her monologues and plays were published in Young Women’s Monologues from Contemporary Plays and The Best Ten Minute Play series. They have been performed all over the nation and placed in numerous contests. In terms of fiction writing, her short story “The Mourning Dove” won first place in Literal Latte’s Fiction Writing Contest; her story “Autumn Spring Together” placed in Women on Writing’s Fiction Contest; and her story “The Women Who Lived In Shoes” placed in The 100 Hundred Words or Fewer Fiction Contest.
