MemoryCare Presented to International Audience

ASHEVILLE, NC – Local non-profit, MemoryCare, was recently presented by its director, Dr. Virginia Templeton, at the 11th International Conference on Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Disease in Florence, Italy.  Over 3000 researchers and clinicians representing 79 countries were at the conference to share information about their work addressing Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s Diseases.

MemoryCare’s unique model of care integrates the support and education of caregivers with the expert medical care of cognitively impaired individuals.  In 2012, MemoryCare served 980 patients and 2927 caregivers with direct clinical services.  The organization has been widely recognized as a model program for dementia care.  MemoryCare is a nonprofit because Medicare/insurance do not cover the comprehensive services provided.
